WEST BURLINGTON – Central Lee had eight players get in on the scoring Friday night as the Hawks drubbed West Burlington 62-37 in West Burlington.
The win moves the Hawks to 4-3 on the year and 3-2 in the SEI Superconference South division, good enough for third place. Holy Trinity Catholic and Mediapolis are tied atop the division at 5-0.
Kenna Sandoval again led the Lady Hawks with 14 points. Lizzy Mason had 12 and Taylor Jones rounded out Central Lee’s players in double figures with 10.
The Hawks also got six points each from Macie Doty, Ellie Lake, and Nora Lampe. Riley Gregory had five points and Jayden Mueller had three.
West Burlington hung around with the Hawks in the first quarter but Central Lee started to pull away in the second quarter building a 14-point lead with 25-9 run before the break.
The Hawks kept up the pressure in the second half pushing the lead to 25 at one point before wrapping up the win.
The Hawks are off for the holiday break and resume play Jan. 3 at Mediapolis.
