Girls open indoor season at Dickinson Relays in Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS – The Fort Madison girls' track team opened the indoor season at the Uni-Dome in Cedar Falls at  the 107-school Dickinson Relays.
Senior Avery Rump had the best individual finish of the day in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:00.40. However, the girls' 4x800 relay team took a top five finish with a 10:17.66 behind Ankeny Centennial, Johnston High, Waukee, and Waukee Northwest.
Jordyn Marshall was 22nd in the 3000-meter run at 12:05.48. McKayla Schinstock was 29th in the 400-meter dash at 1:04.44, while Addison Rump was 30th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:35.79. Mara Smith and Esther Gnann both also ran in the 400. Smith finished at 1:05.87 (41st) and Gnann ran a 1:08.06 (65th).
Lyla Smith was 69th in the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 10.98.
Mia Mason ran an 8.75 in the 60-meter dash. Andrea Yrigoyen and Addisyn Lumsden also ran the 60 meters with times of 9:40 and 9:86, respectively. Libby McEntee was a 14.42 finish in the 60-hurdles for the Lady Hounds.
Danville’s Alaina Gourley was runner-up in the 800-meter run at 2:23.71 missing the title by just .09 seconds off Waukee Northwest’s Emmy Stubbendeck.
Washington's Greyson Hartman won the shot put with a big toss of 65' 2.25".
