Lady Hounds hold off Washington

WASHINGTON – Scoring was amiss Friday night in Washington for the Lady Hounds and Lady Demons.
But the Hounds were able to pull out enough for a 32-28 win and stay atop the Southeast Conference in girls high school basketball action.
The Hounds move to 3-0 in loop play and 6-2 overall and have now won six of their last seven games.

The two squads combined for just 23 first half points with Washington holding a one-point 12-11 lead going into the break.
Hadley Wolfe had 14 points for game-high honors. Washington’s Adalyn Long finished with 13 for the Demons.
Fort Madison converted just four shots from the field in the second half, but two of those were 3-pointers from sophomore Molly Schulte to give the Lady Hounds a smidge of breathing room down the stretch.
