BOONE – The Fort Madison High School duo of Kylie Lumino and Rowan Benda shot an 85 at the Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone to finish 21st in Class 2A on Tuesday.
The two Bloodhounds were both part of their respective girls' and boys' golf teams this spring.
The two sophomore Hounds recorded one birdie on the 501-yard par-5 18th hole where they carded a 4. They suffered three double bogeys, eight bogeys, and six pars.
At one point through the turn, they had four of five pars and stood at six over, but then hit a snag where they recorded three bogeys and a double bogey over the next four holes in the alternate shot format with boys hitting even shots and girls hitting on the odds.
The Lady Hounds finished second in the conference this spring, and crowned the Southeast conference champion, Natalie Wright, who had to win a 3-hole playoff to become the first-ever Bloodhound girls' individual conference champ.
