Printy Funeral Home obituary - Reinhold L. Dobson, 73, Keokuk

Reinhold “Reinie” “RL” Lynn Dobson, 73, of Keokuk, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2024, at his home in Keokuk, Iowa.
Reinie was born on November 14, 1950, in Keokuk, the son of Kenneth Edward and Colleen Elizabeth (Strohmeier) Dobson. He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1968, and on January 13, 1984, he was united in marriage to Sandra Sue Frakes at Immanuel Methodist Church in Keokuk. She survives.
Reinie was a member of the Melrose Global Methodist Church and served as Police Chief in Keokuk for twenty-seven years, retiring in 2005. He was an avid outdoorsman, teaching gun safety and enjoying golfing, hunting and fishing. He was also an active member Quail Forever, Sons of the American Legion and his community, prioritizing community policing and youth programs. One of his greatest accomplishments of his career was graduating from the 85th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Reinie is survived by his wife Sandra Sue Dobson of Keokuk; his brother Terry (Anita) Dobson of Montrose, Iowa; three daughters: Amber (Rob) Young of Spicewood, Texas, Amy (Adam) Domecq of Austin, Texas, and Angela (Matt) Hugo of Dripping Springs, Texas, his stepson Eric Leffler of Keokuk; nine grandchildren: Hunter Brabham, Grace Brabham, Kennedy Domecq, Landon Domecq, Emery Domecq, Ava Grace Hugo, Abigail Hugo, Max Hugo and Hazel Hugo; three step-grandchildren: Ethan, Elijah and Ezekiel Leffler; and great-granddaughter Savannah Brabham.
Reinie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kenny, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home, 917 Blondeau Street, Keokuk, Iowa 52632, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 am to 1 pm on Tuesday directly before the service.
Memorials may be directed to Melrose Methodist Church for their Missions to Israel or to the family.
