Quittem cards 45 to lead Hounds at Washington

WASHINGTON – The Bloodhounds shot a 203 over the front nine in Washington Monday night led by freshman Cole Quittem’s 45.
Washington senior Roman Roth continues to roll through Southeast Conference golf with a 2-under par 33 for medalist honors. Drew Conrad was runner-up medalist for the Demons with a 36 on his home course, while Rajan Roth shot a 38 to help Washington to the title with a 150.
Mt. Pleasant carded a 179 behind Reece Coffman’s 41 and Nate Dismang’s 43.
Fairfield combined for a 184 and Keokuk beat Fort Madison by just a stroke at 202 with Chase Eckland and Jayden Thomas each with a 48.
Brady Wade shot a 49 for Fort Madison, followed by Rowan Benda’s 54 and Cade Denning’s 55 to round out the scoring golfers for the Hounds.
On Thursday, Wade shot a cleaner 5-over 41 in Mt. Pleasant. Denning, Colton Bower, and Quittem were also both under 50 with 44, 49, and 48, respectively. This was the first time the Hounds posted all scoring golfers under 50 on the season. The Hounds finished with a 182, good enough for 3rd at the meet.
Roman Roth shot an even-par 36 to tie Fairfield’s Sam Weaton for co-medalist honors. The Demon’s Rajan Roth and Teague Mayer were co-runners up with 37s.
The Conference events continue Friday with a meet at Fairfield.
