Living in Keokuk, it can sometimes seem like the farther you get from Des Moines, the easier it is for our part of the state to be overlooked.  That is why I am supporting Matt Mohrfeld for House District 100 on November 3rd.  What impresses me about Matt is that he shows up. He comes to Keokuk as well as the other towns in Lee County.  He attends our events, he talks to people, he asks questions, and more importantly, he listens.  When was the last time you saw our current state representative in your town?  Visiting the citizens of your town may sound like a small thing, but it is not.
Southeast Iowa has its own challenges and its own opportunities and Keokuk, Fort Madison and our smaller communities need someone who understands that and is willing to spend time with the people who actually live and work here.
Matt has spent his life in Southeast Iowa. He has been a small business owner, a county supervisor, and a mayor.  He understands local government, but he also understands that no one person or one community has all the answers. You need the ability to listen to people.  I can attest to that ability in Matt – having served on the Lee County Board of Supervisors with him.  I believe Matt will take his experience and ability with him to Des Moines and be a voice for our citizens just as he has been here in our county.

Southeast Iowa deserves to be heard. We need someone who will show up, listen, and speak for our communities.  I believe Matt can be that stronger voice for all of Southeast Iowa.  Regardless of your location in our county,  I encourage your vote for him on election day.
Sincerely,

Jerry Kearns
