LEE COUNTY – Post-season soccer accolades were handed down this week from the Southeast Conference and SEI Super Conference.
Fort Madison’s Teagan Snaadt was named player of the year for the girls in the Southeast Conference for the Lady Hounds. Snaadt was tops in the conference in goals scored with 36 on the year, 14 ahead of Burlington’s Hunter Pender. Snaadt was tops in loop play in points with 83 and the Hound senior was fourth in assists with 11 for the 13-3 Bloodhounds. Fort Madison finished second in the SEC with an 8-1-1 mark behind Burlington (9-0-1).
Snaadt took 115 shots on the year, just one ahead of Fort Madison’s Hadley Wolfe. She had 77 shots on goal to Wolfe’s 63, ranking 1 and 2 in the conference.
Wolfe joined Snaadt on the SEC first team, along with senior Bailey Vaughn, Halle Menke and Reilynn Turnbull.
Menke was third on the squad in shots with 58 from her midfield position. She had 40 points and 30 shots on goal. Turnbull had 42 shots and 19 points on the season with 21 shots on goal. Vaughn helped anchor a defense that allowed just 13 goals on the season and didn’t allow the first until the 9th game.
Naomi Ramatowski and Molly Schulte both earned honorable mention status.
For the boys, seniors Henry Graham, Jacob Shottenkirk and Noah Swigart were named first team all-conference. Sophomores Connor Horn and Jonah Santiago were also named to the squad.
Horn and Graham were No. 1 and 2 in the SEC in scoring with 18 and 13 goals respectively. Shottenkirk was the best in the conference with 18 assists. Horn had 41 points which was tops in the league. Graham was third with 31 and Shottenkirk was fourth with 30. Swigart was a stalwart on the defensive side of the ball.
