VanFleet steps aside at WB after two years

MORE TIME

I simply would like more time to watch my own kids play the game we love.”

Cody VanFleet, former varsity boys Head Coach at West Burlington

WEST BURLINGTON - Cody VanFleet has resigned as West Burlington High School’s boys basketball coach after leading the Falcons to back-to-back Southeast Iowa Super Conference championships.
VanFleet’s teams went 43-4 in two seasons as varsity coach, including an appearance in the 2024 Class 2A state tournament.
VanFleet said one of the reasons for his resignation was to watch his daughter play high school basketball.
“I simply would like more time to watch my own kids play the game we love,” VanFleet said in an email.
VanFleet coached five seasons in the Super Conference’s South Division, including three seasons at Notre Dame. He posted a 94-23 varsity record with four district championships.
