DONNELLSON – The Central Lee girls got another SEI Superconference win Tuesday night, this time over Burlington Notre Dame.
The Lady Hawks rolled to a 58-29 win over the Nikes at home, setting up a big game Friday night at Danville. The Hawks (7-6) move to 6-3 in the SEISC tied with Holy Trinity Catholic who lost by a point at Danville (5-3, 7-6) late Tuesday.
Central Lee raced to a 19-4 first-quarter lead behind seven points from Kenna Sandoval. Notre Dame would make a late run in the second quarter to cut the lead to 10 at 25-15. But the Lady Hawks would put up 20 points in the 3rd quarter for a 47-27 lead and then the defense would hold the Nikes to just two points in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Nora Lampe led the Hawks with 20 points, including four 3-pointers in the second half to help Central Lee pull away. Lizzy Mason and Sandoval each were in double figures with 10 points. Sandoval had six rebounds and a couple assists in the win. Mason led Central Lee with nine assists.
Kinsey Cameron had 10 for Notre Dame (3-5, 3-9).
