LEE COUNTY – The Southeast Iowa Super Conference released its all-conference boys and girls teams this week. The lists are withheld until all teams in the conference are done with post-season play.
On the girls’ side in the South Division Holy Trinity Catholic’s Teagan Snaadt and Adalyn Kruse were named to the SEISC South 1st team along with Kenna Sandoval of Central Lee.
Snaadt led HTC with 273 points, steals with 79 and had 33 assists. Her points were fifth most in the SEISC-South Division. Sandoval was 8th in the South division in scoring with 236 points. Kruse had 216 points and a team-high 206 rebounds.
Central Lee’s Lizzy Mason was named 2nd-team All-Conference South Division. Holy Trinity senior Anna Bendlage and sophomore Elizabeth Griffin were also named 2nd-team All-South Division. Mason was tied with Snaadt at fifth in the division in scoring with 273 points.
Bendlage scored 107 points on the season, while Griffin scored 185 and tied Snaadt with a team-high 33 3-pointers.
Olivia Bendlage and Isabella Behne were named honorable mention as was Central Lee juniors Taylor Jones and Jayden Mueller.
Mediapolis’ Josie Hutcherson was named player of the year in the South Division and Mepo Coach Todd Borrison was named coach of the year.
For the boys, Mason Watkins of West Burlington was named the south division player of the year and Notre Dame’s Dan Kies was named Coach of the year.
Holy Trinity’s Luke Hellige was a unanimous all-conference South Division first-team honoree as was Brayden Wyrick of Central Lee.
Hellige finished the season with the Crusaders ninth in the state in scoring with 639 points, and fifth in Class 1A. Hellige also shot 54.4% from the field. The senior finished 14th in the state in field goals made with 222. That stat was 8th in the state in Class 1A.
Wyrick finished his senior season with 307 points and 155 rebounds. Both of those were tops for the Hawks, who finished a nice season under first-year coach Jonny Swanson. The Hawks were 13-10 overall and 8-6 in the SEISC South.
On the second team were Hawks’ juniors Will Hayes and Owen Swan, along with Holy Trinity Catholic’s Layne Rung and Adam Sobczak. Sobczak, in his final year with HTC, had a state-leading 212 assists, a full 33 ahead of the anyone else in any class in the state. Rung finished the year with 303 points and connected on 42 3-pointers.
Hayes had 264 points on the year, second best on the Hawks and had 125 rebounds. Swan scored 250 points and shot 36.4% from 3-point range. He had 66 assists top for the Hawks this season.
Carson Morrison and Kaden Swan were named honorable mention as sophomores. HTC senior Koby Jones and junior Nathan Box also were named honorable mention.
