Ian William Eaves, 39, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 7:01 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison. He was born on December 26, 1986 in Fort Madison, IA to Kevin & Janet Fowler Eaves. He worked several jobs over the years, including mechanic, electrician and lastly for the past 8 years, he worked at Climax in Fort Madison. He served on the Denmark Fire Department for several years and loved anything fast and loud, including cars, motorcycles and his truck, Ruby. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and being in his garage with his friends and family. He enjoyed a campfire and the Kansas City Chiefs. He never knew a stranger! But most of all, he enjoyed his girls.
Ian is survived by: his wife: Cara Hitchcock of Fort Madison, IA; 3-daughters: Genevieve (fiancé Caleb Bolander) Ruble, Gabrielle (Henry Morris) Ruble & Grace Eaves all of Fort Madison, IA; his mother & step father: Janet (Randy) Cantonwine of Donnellson, IA; his father: Kevin Eaves of Fort Madison, IA; 2-sisters: Chelci (Noah) Eaves-Mehaffy of Fort Madison, IA and Angie Cantonwine of Fort Madison, IA; 2-brothers: Chris (Amber) Cantonwine of Montrose, IA & Ryan (Cindy) Cantonwine of Denmark, IA; his maternal grandmother: Kathy Lemaster of Wayland, MO and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, his paternal grandparents & 1-uncle.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Earl Beal officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
