Kenneth “Kenny” John Horner, Jr., 79, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at his home.
Kenny was born on April 14, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Kenneth John Horner, Sr., and Nancy Almeda (Thrush) Horner. He graduated from Keokuk Senior High in 1965 and went on to work at Roquette for thirty-seven years, retiring in 2001. After his retirement, Kenny went back to work at Cars Auto Sales, Clarks and Dan’s Pawn Shop. On May 30, 1987, he was united in marriage to his beloved wife of 39 years Pamela “Pam” (Holmes) Horner. She survives.
Kenny was blessed with many great friends and a huge family, all of whom he loved with all his heart. Beneath the blunt and slightly grouchy exterior was a man who loved deeply and enjoyed the life he built with the people around him. You never had to wonder what Kenny was thinking, he would let you know. He enjoyed spending his free time driving around town with his dog Ellie. Kenny and Pam traveled extensively, and his favorite hobbies were riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his friends and creating works of art through woodworking. Above all else, Kenny will be remembered for his love for his wife and children.
Kenny is survived by his wife Pam Horner of Keokuk; four children: Jamie (Aaron) Webb of Jacksonville, Florida, Ryan (Erica) Horner of Keokuk, Bob (Tanya) West of Carthage, Illinois, and Ashley (Zach) Hinkle of Greenwood, Missouri; his favorite four-legged child Ellie Mae Horner; two sisters: Nancy Hoeferle and Suann (Wendell) Guthart; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Nancy Horner, his in-laws Robert and Darlene Holmes, his son Matthew Horner, his grandson Bredan Robinson, his brother Larry (Bonnie) Horner, his sister Sandra (Dan) Pope, his brother-in-law Harold Hoeferle and his sister-in-law Debbie Miller.
