Lee County resident supports Watkins for State Rep.

Hello,
My name is Steve Rairden and I am writing in support of Blaine Watkins for Iowa State Representative. I am a life long resident of Keokuk, and an employee of Lee County for over 28 years. 
I have had the pleasure of getting to know Watkins over the past year. My communications first started when the legislature was considering changes in the IPER’s system. I would often email Watkins with questions and he would always respond in most cases within hours and would explain in detail the answers.
As I watched the bill move in the session I could always count on Watkins to be in support of the change. The bill was for the Protected class in the IPER’s system for Correctional Officers, Police Officers, Firefighters, and EMS. 
I will now get to my points why I know Watkins is the man for the job. I have been around many people and was wondering  about the work ethics and decision making that some people were making. I was telling myself that some of these people are our future leaders and it was scary. I have been fortunate to be around some of the younger generation and finally got feeling better about our leaders of the future.

Blaine Watkins is our future. He is a very nice young man, with a great attitude, and work ethic. I have had the pleasure of being around him and watching him talk with people about their concerns. Watkins has already served in the House of Representatives and is building a strong record with his dedication to make Iowa, Lee County a better place to live and raise a family.
Watkins is a strong voice for Southeast Iowa in helping make future opportunities for future employment with good paying jobs. Watkins will listen to people of all social classes without judgement. 
Watkins is a young man with ambition and goals for our community to be prosperous and successful. I know Watkins to be a farmer in Lee County in the Donnellson area. Watkins supports public safety which is important to me. Watkins will stand his ground for what he thinks is right.
If you get a chance to visit it with Watkins please do, Watkins is an approachable man that will listen to all sides and not just the sides he wants to hear. On November 3, 2026 please vote for Watkins for the future of Lee County, State of Iowa, and the United States of America.
