CEDAR RAPIDS - Several Lee County swimmers helped the Burlington High School swim team to a 6th-place finish at the highly-regarded Linn-Mar Invitational on Saturday in Cedar Rapids.
Central Lee's Blake Wyrick has the best finish of the day for the Grayhounds taking 2nd place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.74 just 1.33 seconds off the winning pace of Pleasant Valley's Kevin Burke.
Wyrick also captured 5th place in the 100-yard freestyle
Holy Trinity Catholic's Jacob Mohrfeld earned 3rd place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.56. Mohrfeld and Wyrick were both on the 200 yard freestyle relay team with Jacob Venvertloh and Taden Jameson that came in 5th place with a time of 1:35.22.
The Grayhounds took 6th place overall with 154 points. Des Moines Dowling Catholic won the event with 471 total points.
