Three area girls get all-state recognition

LEE COUNTY - Central Lee’s Kenna Sandoval was a second-team selection, Fort Madison’s Brylie Lorence was a third-team choice, and Holy Trinity’s Sydney Jarvis was an honorable-mention pick on the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-State softball teams.
Holy Trinity’s Emily Ross was named to the academic all-state team.
Sandoval, a junior, was honored on the Class 3A team. Lorence, a senior, was a Class 4A selection. Jarvis, a sophomore, was honored on the Class 1A team.
Sandoval and Jarvis were selected to the IGCA’s all-district teams. Sandoval was named to the 3A Southeast team, while Jarvis was named to the 1A Southeast Team.
Sandoval hit .472 for the Hawks, with a 1.409 OPS. She led the team with eight home runs and was second with 28 runs batted in. She also had a team-high 19 stolen bases.

Lorence hit a team-best .477 with 14 home runs and 49 runs batted in. She had a 1.610 OPS.
Jarvis was 16-5 with a 2.41 earned run average, striking out 148 in 125 innings. She was also one of the best hitters in Iowa, ranking seventh in the state and fifth in Class 1A with a .593 batting average. Jarvis had four home runs and tied for fifth in 1A with 49 runs batted in.
Among southeast Iowa selections to the all-state teams, Highland’s Kamryn Fink was a 1A first-team selection, while teammate Lilly Barre was named to the second team. Hillcrest’s Delaney Shaw was named to the third team, and Lone Tree’s Alex Dautremont and Wapello’s Quinn Zweibohmer were on the honorable-mention list.
Louisa-Muscatine’s Grace Kissell and Hannah Kissell were first-team picks in Class 2A. L-M’s Kamryn Taylor and Columbus’ Lily Coil were named to the second team. 
Washington’s Ella Greiner and Leighton Salazar were first-team picks in Class 3A. Fairfield’s Leah Helmick, Mediapolis’ Payton Harris and West Burlington’s Lyndsey Kelley were named to the third team.
Burlington’s Keirah Wiseman was a second-team selection in Class 4A.
