Former supervisor endorses Mohrfeld

Dear Editor,

I went to the county building in Fort Madison today to vote and as I filled out my ballot, I filled in the oval for Matt Mohrfeld for State Representative.  As I was returning home, I began to think about my time as a County Supervisor with Matt.  
What I remember most about serving with Matt on the Board of Supervisors was his ability to bring people and organizations from all political and community interests together to come up with solutions to challenges we faced as a county.  

When I later became the Executive Director of the Fort Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, Matt was on the Chamber Board of Directors.  I again saw him work with fellow Board and community members across political affiliations to make Fort Madison a better place. 
In today’s political climate, I believe this ability is needed now more than ever to address the challenges Fort Madison, Lee County and our state face. To tackle issues like economic development, education and tax policy, to name a few, we need a leader who can problem solve and build consensus. I am confident Matt will be the leader we need in Des Moines to accomplish this.
Please exercise your right to vote by voting in person, by mail or on election day.  And when you do, please vote for Matt Mohrfeld.
