LeRoy “Radar” McDaniel, 75, of Donnellson, Iowa passed away at 11:43 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 at his home.
He was born on September 9, 1951 in Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of Alfred E. and Helen E. (Wahl) McDaniel. On December 28, 1979, he married Nancy Wittich in Fort Madison, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife: Nancy; four children: Rodney (Theresa) Judd of Townville, South Carolina, Muranda Judd of Fort Madison, Iowa, Elaine (Tadd) Overton of Donnellson, Iowa, Michelle (Harry Jr.) Rule of Montrose, Iowa; grandchildren: Destiny Richardson, Jessica Judd, Dylan Judd, Dominick Markey, Adrianna Markey, Larissa Stark, Holden Overton, Emma Youngbeck, Josh Youngbeck; and many loved great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Alfred L. “Sonny” McDaniel.
He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Fort Madison, the Donnellson American Legion, and a past member of the Moose Club . He was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran where he obtained the rank E-4 Corporal. Radar was an over the road truck driver for many years, and retired from Shipley Contracting. He enjoyed camping, telling stories, and was an avid reader.
His body has been entrusted to the crematory of Schmitz Funeral Home for cremation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
