Shermaine C. Mazakahomni-Humburd, 38, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. She was born on July 22, 1988 in Bismarck, ND to Darrell White Lightning & Phoebe Feather. She married Thomas L. Humburd, Jr. on June 25, 2026 in Davenport, IA. She worked in housekeeping most of her life and was a member of the Spirit Lake Tribe in North Dakota. She loved to ride and hug horses, walk along the river, color in coloring books and especially loved spending time with her children.
Shermaine is survived by: her husband: Thomas Humburd, Jr. of Fort Madison, IA; 1-daughter: Lakota Kirk of Davenport, IA; 3-sons: Xavior Ruiz, Jatavian Kirk & Jaceion Kirk all of Davenport, IA; her mother: Phoebe Schroeder of Billings, MT & 11-siblings. She was preceded in death by: her father & 2-sisters.
